Rescued November 14, 2025
Lucky was one of FIVE cats we took in from a situation where she and her fellow felines were being kept inside a small cage in the back of a car–together. Their owner was dealing with homelessness and didn’t want to leave the cats behind, but keeping the cats in the car that way was also not healthy. Lucky was very grateful to be out of her confined space and was initially nothing but purrs. As she acclimated to her new space and routine, she’s gotten feisty and a bit spicy. She likes to be pet, but she’s not afraid to tell you you’re doing it wrong. She doesn’t like to be held and will growl a bit if you do so. We’re working on that, but she may never like it. She is young so her attitude may change once she’s older. Or it may not. We love her either way. She is very playful and likes to bounce about her kennel, using her scratcher for a launchpad. Her right ear was wounded when her previous owner found her and it bears the scar. She has an iris freckle that the vet is not currently concerned about. There is an off-chance that it could become cancerous and should be watched for changes in shape and size. She plays with her neighbor through the bars and should do okay with another cat and possibly a well-behaved dog. Older kids shouldn’t be a problem. She should tolerate anyone that gives her the space she demands and she’s still young, so she’s more adaptable to change. She is fully vetted, combo tested negative, spayed and litter trained. She’s estimated to have a 2025 birthday and will be 1 this spring. She will need to keep her claws and be an indoor only cat. She uses her scratcher like a pro. Screening questions are a must and always in the best interest of the cat.
