Rescued November 14, 2025
CC was one of FIVE cats we took in from a situation where he and his fellow felines were being kept inside a small cage in the back of a car–together. Their owner was dealing with homelessness and didn’t want to leave the cats behind, but keeping the cats in the car that way was also not healthy. CC was extremely traumatized and in a deep depression for at least the first 10 days he was here. Now, he is doing much better. He gets excited for wet food and will meow insistently when he knows it’s time to eat. He’s very sweet, loves pets and plays with the toys we give him. He is average sized, but quite hulking, being an intact Tom cat (with the jowls to prove it) with a birthday estimated in 2021. He is still mildly timid and will need someone who understands friendship involves trust and can’t be rushed. He does NOT want to be picked up and seems to have a lot of anxiety related to that. We’re working on it, but there’s no guarantee he’ll ever be happy about it. He will need a quiet home with much older children or none at all. Due to the circumstances, so much is unknown about his personality, but he’s never been aggressive, though absolutely terrified. His favorite things to do are get pets, lay in a lap, play and get his daily “goodie food.”
~~We’ve tried to integrate him into the Cattery with nine other cats, two that were in the rabbit cage with him, and he’s having issues with aggression. He’s jumped two different cats on separate occasions and due to that, he’s had to be kept in his kennel. It’s a multi-level Great Dane sized dog crate in the Cattery but we still wish he could be out with everyone. In the minutes before he attacked, he was playing and watching Cat TV like it was the coolest thing he’d ever seen. We’re thinking he’s getting over-stimulated and his old “Bad Boy” ways get switched on. Up until then, he’s a very playful, loving boy. We hope that the farther he gets from his neuter, the more he’ll calm down, but there is no guarantee. For right now, he will need to be an ONLY CAT. He is fully vetted, combo tested negative, neutered (Feb 5) and litter trained. He will need to keep his claws and be an indoor only cat. He uses her scratcher like a pro.
He is also mildly special needs, having a GRADE FOUR HEART MURMUR. It’s something that will need an eye kept on it and info for any vet he sees. Anesthesia poses the greatest risk. Screening questions are a must and always in the best interest of the cat. Message for the adoption questionnaire and full details on the boy with the “cheek-cheeks.”

Check out this video compilation to see CC’s progress since his rescue and get a sense of his personality. This “cheeky” boy has come the farthest of all the cats rescued that day.
